We are a multi-disciplinary, highly skilled and experienced research team in both health and social research. We lead on a number of statutory responsibilities, including the production of the Joint Strategic Needs Assessment on behalf of the West Sussex Health and Wellbeing Board, commissioning West Sussex Healthwatch and West Sussex County Council’s Research Governance process.
This section of the website provides key data and analyses relating to these young populations as well as school age children and young people in West Sussex to enable planning and support to ensure West Sussex populations are starting and developing well.
This section is presented under three headings, reflecting the available demographics of the workforce in West Sussex, data on housing, environment and wider determinants of health and data on Health behaviours of the working age population.
The county’s population age structure is older than the South East region and England as a whole and presents challenges in relation to the demand for and provision of services, but also in the way that older people are perceived and included in the wider community.
This section contains our published reports, including short reports and briefing notes as well as formal comprehensive needs assessments and the statutory Director of Public Health Annual Report.
